Product Description Even before Enya came on the scene, Carolyn was composing and performing New Age songs with lyrics, at a time when that ethereal landscape was only instrumental. In her newest soul-embracing collection, she has channeled that visionary energy into a mix of uplifting and meditative creations which draw upon the moods of contemporary pop and world music as well as her signature heart-stirring style. About the Artist Carolyn's metaphysical search started at age eighteen and that spiritual quest, which continues to this day, is the inspiration for the creation of the original music on her new CD, "Face in the Mirror". She came from a musical family. Her father was a band teacher and professional trumpet player and her mother, a professional country singer who played stand-up bass. Carolyn's background in the music business is diverse and extensive. This experience has allowed her to sing and perform in many types of bands as a lead and backup vocalist for: country, top 40, variety, fifties-sixties bands and several orchestras. Singing in a girls trio, as a child and teen, really helped develop her ear for harmony. Carolyn's group, called the "Coquettes", won first place at the Arizona State Fair competition. Later in her career, she toured the U.S. with bands such as: The Magic Rhythm Band", including a magic show where she vanished from the stage nightly, an Elvis impersonator show band and the "Champions", a high-energy group with choreographed shows. Carolyn says, performing with Linda Ronstadt's cousins, singing intricate three-part harmony, was a memorable and enjoyable part of her career. Carolyn is also an ordained teacher of Overlight Spiritual Psychology, a certified hypnotherapist, a cognitive-sentient channeler, life coach, Course in Miracles facilitator and holistic nutritionist.
