I am very happy with this mirror. I was looking for something flat and sturdy that I could use as a signal mirror during emergencies or as a general purpose camp mirror. This mirror is perfect. It folds very flat (approximately 4 mm thick when closed) and secures with a nice clasp. When opened, if flips around and can stand on it's own. (perfect for shaving!)It is a small enough mirror that women could probably use it as a compact mirror. So I think in that regard, definitely multi-purpose.I am highly impressed with the quality of the mirror and housing - and that it is made in Japan. I would not hesitate to order it again.
