Charisma is a Christian Indie Rock gospel band from India initially started recording for the album Jesus in the Mirror early 2012. J.I.T.M. is an album that's an explosive expression of humanity. Something that the listeners will get touched by. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light and out of the darkness. Calvin Dixon singer, composer and lyricist . His journey of gospel singing began in various churches in India and Australia. He later composed masses and hymns for churches. Lead by religious activities went on a mission to compose and write for the youth to seek inspiration, many attempts were made till funds were gathered to release the first Gospel album J.I.T.M. This group is named after his 16 year old sister Charisma Dixon the lead singer of the band Charisma. Charisma started singing gospel music at the age of 12. Charisma is Inspired by many gospel artists such as Don Moen, Toby MAC, hill song and various other artists."My parents were very supportive and believed in our talent. They brought us up strong in our faith in Christianity. Our upbringing has made us the children we are today. I can look back and say I actually like the strict upbringing I had, my father was very attentive and a great educator. The band Charisma tries to portray a strong social message in their music & music videos. Their first music video Lonely Soul won an award for best video and song from Goodness TV, the cash prize was donated to the homeless and sick people at the Divine Retreat Centre.This video was filmed in Melbourne It was based on all the lone hearted people living around the globe trying who make a living with no food or shelter. The second video Healing Rain filmed in Goa was based on a true story on the recovery of their eldest sister's accident named Colette Dixon in Melbourne. The third video HMFW is about finding a way with all the happenings around the world especially the brutal incidents of the rape victims affected in India. All the videos have been directed & edited by Calvin Dixon. He had come to Bombay to pursue further studies in film and sound engineering. He always had an intention to start a gospel group with his youngest sister Charisma she was 14 years when they began work on the album. There were later introduced to Gary gracious the guitarist who further introduced them to Cris Victor the bass player for the group Charisma. Together they worked on all the production of the tracks and later recorded them at YRF STUDIOS Bombay. Vh1 India came forward to help them to promote their gospel music videos on their channels in India.
